Restate Cloud is Open to Everyone — Build Durable Workflows & Agents Today

September 30, 2025

Restate Team

We have some exciting news to share with you today: We are opening Restate Cloud for public sign-up with usage-based pricing. If you build workflows or AI agents, you now get durable execution, observability, and production-grade availability without running any stateful infra yourself. This release also ships major upgrades to observability, execution controls, security, and integrations with platforms like Cloudflare and Vercel, and simpler ways to connect services in your own cloud infra.

Innately Resilient Applications

In the past months, we helped many users adopt Restate for use cases from AI agents to financial transaction processing. Restate is now used to orchestrate AI workflows, payments, crypto trades, and is used in the account and credit card stack of a tier 1 bank. Our users value Restate as a fundamental building block for reliable apps and infrastructure - a way to build what we call Innately Resilient Applications.

Restate’s superpower is how it combines

  • the dev-ex and productivity of a cloud-native stateful orchestration platform,
  • with the rigor and guarantees of a transactional database,
  • and the simplicity and flexibility of a self-contained single binary that scales from laptop to multi-region clusters.

Moving to Restate has been a game-changer for Rhize. The balance of simplicity and power is brilliant.

By managing the state and durability of our complex DSL evaluation, Restate unlocked a new pace of delivery.

-- Kyle McKay - Platform, Cinder

Today, we are making that power available to everyone in a fully-managed way, with multiple tiers tailored to different usage scenarios.
Start building durable applications without worrying about stateful systems. You can create a free tier environment for testing in a few clicks (no credit card required, 50k actions/month) and follow the built-in tutorial to run a first agentic workflow.

New Cloud Features

In addition to opening Restate Cloud to the public, we are also releasing a series of new improvements that we built following user feedback:

  • Observability: Detailed timelines for ongoing and previous workflow executions
  • Multi-availability-zone deployments (3 AZs) on request, for mission critical availability
  • Client-side encryption (optional): payloads (params, state, step results) are encrypted with customer-managed keys; Restate never sees plaintext.
  • Better control over executions: pausing, resuming, restarting
  • Simpler secure connectivity into private infrastructure through an invoker tunnel

Restate Cloud now makes it easy to deploy durable applications on serverless compute platforms, including Cloudflare Workers, Vercel Functions, or Deno Deploy. By integrating with their serverless deployment versioning, we seamlessly make the most notorious pitfall of durable execution simply go away: no more breaking durable execution through code changes. Try it out, it feels magical!

We will release additional contents and features around Restate, Restate Cloud, and AI integrations during the next few days. Stay tuned and follow us for more updates on building amazingly resilient and scalable AI applications. Until then:
